About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver in Edinburgh, delivering letters and parcels to the local community. This fixed‑term position (9 months) offers a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends, and provides full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Edinburgh West Delivery Office.
• Deliver mail by van and on foot across assigned routes.
• Build relationships with customers and represent the Royal Mail brand.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, handling high volumes of items.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) registered to your name and address.
• Ability to pass a driving assessment and drive a Royal Mail van daily.
• Physically fit – comfortable walking up to 12 miles, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting 10 kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently.
