Postal Delivery Driver – Fixed‑Term (Glasgow)

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver in Glasgow, working a fixed‑term contract of nine months. You will be the friendly face delivering letters and parcels to local customers, enjoying an active, outdoor role with a rotating shift pattern that includes weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Bishopbriggs delivery office.
• Deliver mail by van and on foot throughout your assigned route.
• Build relationships with customers and represent Royal Mail’s trusted service.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, handling up to 12 miles of walking per day.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and adhere to safety standards.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Ability to pass a driving assessment and operate a Royal Mail van daily.
• Physically fit – comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs or hills, and lifting/ carrying mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
