Postal Delivery Driver – Fixed‑Term (Stockport)

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver in Stockport, working a 30‑hour week on a rotating shift schedule that includes weekends. You will be the face of the service, delivering letters and parcels to the local community while staying active and outdoors.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Bredbury Delivery Office.
• Deliver mail and parcels by van and on foot across assigned routes.
• Build relationships with customers and represent Royal Mail professionally.
• Work in all weather conditions and adapt to varying demand.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address).
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit for walking up to 12 miles (20,000+ steps) and lifting/ carrying 10 kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy, time‑pressured environment.
