Postal Delivery Driver

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver in Basingstoke and become the friendly face that brings letters, parcels and moments that matter to local households and businesses. You will work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, delivering a high volume of mail while staying active and outdoors.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Basingstoke Delivery Office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout the assigned local area.
• Build relationships with customers and represent the Royal Mail brand.
• Work in all weather conditions and manage time‑pressured delivery days, especially during peak periods.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit for walking long distances (up to 12 miles/20,000+ steps) and lifting/ carrying mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
