About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver in Shepton Mallet, delivering letters and parcels to your local community on a rotating shift schedule. The role combines driving, walking and customer interaction, offering a rewarding routine with varied routes.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post by van and on foot within the local area
• Build relationships with customers and deliver a range of items, from letters to parcels
• Work a rotating shift schedule, including weekdays and occasional weekends
• Drive a Royal Mail van daily and walk up to 12 miles per shift

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to current name and address
• Physically fit – able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills and lift/carry 10 kg+ mailbags
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently outdoors
• Willingness to pass a Royal Mail driving assessment and work one in four Sundays

Required skills

• Driving a van safely in urban and rural environments
