Postal Delivery Driver (Part‑time) – Workington

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a part‑time Postal Delivery Driver (Postie) in Workington. You will be the friendly face that brings mail, parcels and important documents to homes and businesses across the local community, working a flexible schedule of 30 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver letters, parcels and other items to customers within the assigned route.
• Walk long distances and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Adhere to delivery schedules, including occasional Sunday shifts on a rota basis.
• Provide courteous customer service and represent Royal Mail positively.
• Maintain the delivery vehicle and ensure it is kept clean and road‑worthy.
• Follow health, safety and security procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Upbeat, independent and self‑motivated.
• Organised, punctual and committed to excellent customer service.
• Enjoy walking for long periods and working outdoors.
• Strong sense of community and pride in the role.
• Full UK manual driving licence with no more than six penalty points.

Required skills

• Valid UK manual driving licence (≤6 penalty points).
