Postal Delivery Driver (Postie)

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postie and become the friendly face delivering letters and parcels to the Egremont community. You will work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, delivering essential items while enjoying the benefits of an active, outdoor role.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot within your local area.
• Build relationships with customers and represent the Royal Mail brand.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Handle a variety of items, from exam results to birthday cards and business orders.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit – able to walk up to 12 miles, climb stairs/hills and lift/carry 10 kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy, time‑pressured environment.
• Customer‑focused with pride in delivering great service.

Required skills

• Valid manual UK driving licence.
