Postal Delivery Driver (Postie) – Part‑time Fixed‑term

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postie in Carnforth, delivering letters and parcels to the local community on a part‑time, fixed‑term basis. You will work a rotating shift pattern, including weekends, and represent the face of a trusted national service.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Carnforth Delivery Office.
• Deliver mail by van and on foot across assigned routes.
• Build relationships with customers and provide friendly service.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, handling up to 10 kg mailbags.
• Complete a daily driving assessment and operate a Royal Mail van.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your name and address.
• Physically fit for walking up to 12 miles (20,000+ steps) and lifting 10 kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
