Postal Delivery Driver (Postie) – Part‑time

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postie and become the friendly face delivering letters and parcels to the Chorley community. This part‑time, permanent role offers a rotating shift pattern, including occasional weekends and Sundays, allowing you to stay active while providing an essential service.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Chorley Delivery Office.
• Deliver mail and parcels by van and on foot within the local area.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, handling up to 12 miles of walking per shift.
• Carry and lift mailbags weighing 10 kg or more.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit for long walks, climbing stairs or hills, and lifting heavy items.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy, time‑pressured environment.
