Postperson (Postal Delivery Driver) – Part‑time Fixed‑term

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postperson in Morpeth, delivering letters and parcels to your local community on a rotating shift schedule. This fixed‑term, part‑time position offers a mix of driving and walking, allowing you to stay active while providing an essential service.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout your assigned area.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Handle a variety of items, from exam results to birthday cards.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit for long walks (up to 12 miles) and able to lift/carry 10 kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy, time‑pressured environment.
• Customer‑focused with pride in delivering great service.
