Postperson with Driving – Brampton

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postperson (Postal Delivery Driver) in Brampton, delivering letters and parcels to your local community. You will work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, and represent the trusted face of the service.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout the local area.
• Build relationships with customers and deliver a variety of items, from exam results to birthday cards.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, covering up to 12 miles (20,000+ steps) per shift.
• Follow a rota that determines daily routes and hours, including occasional Sundays.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit to walk long distances, climb stairs or hills, and lift/carry mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy, time‑pressured environment.
• Customer‑focused with pride in delivering great service.
