PPA Teacher – Full‑time Specialist School

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic PPA (Planning, Preparation and Assessment) Teacher to join a specialist school that supports children and young people with complex learning difficulties, disabilities and additional needs. The role is full‑time and long‑term, covering pupils from Early Years Foundation Stage through to Sixth Form.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality lessons and learning activities across a range of ages and curriculum areas during PPA time.
- Provide PPA cover for all year groups, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Follow individual education plans, care plans and behaviour support strategies.
- Promote pupils’ communication, independence, confidence and personal development.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
- Confidence teaching across a wide range of ages and abilities.
- Ability to build positive relationships quickly with pupils and staff.
- Strong communication, organisational and classroom‑management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
