PQC Technical Lead

About the role

LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) is looking for a senior consultant to act as technical lead for its Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) programme. This is not a research role: the post-holder must turn NCSC expectations into practical implementation plans, tell engineering teams what needs to change across a complex technology estate, and give clear direction on delivery. The role is at manager level.

Key responsibilities

• Build practical migration plans aligned to NCSC milestones and business priorities.
• Lead discovery of cryptographic dependencies across applications, infrastructure, cloud, networks, PKI and third-party services.
• Identify quantum-vulnerable technologies and prioritise remediation by risk.
• Create reusable migration patterns, reference architectures and implementation playbooks, covering certificates, TLS, authentication, digital signatures, VPNs and key management.
• Assess vendor readiness and challenge supplier roadmaps with the Third-Party Risk Management team.
• Support engineering teams through design reviews, pilots and technical decisions.
• Produce executive updates, investment recommendations and risk assessments, and simplify complex issues for senior stakeholders and governance forums.

Required profile

• Senior security architect, likely with an engineering background, in a large enterprise environment.
• Proven delivery experience driving complex security or infrastructure transformation programmes.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and documentation skills, and ability to influence teams without direct authority.
• Highly desirable: previous PQC or crypto-agility experience, financial services or critical national infrastructure experience, familiarity with NCSC and NIST PQC guidance.
