Practice Accountant – Accounts & Bookkeeping (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced practice accountant to join our independent firm in Reigate on a fixed‑term basis (3‑6 months) with the potential to become permanent. The role covers a colleague’s absence and adds extra workload, so you must settle in quickly and hit the ground running.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accounts for sole traders, owner‑managed businesses and small limited companies.
• Deliver hands‑on Making Tax Digital (MTD) work.
• Perform in‑house bookkeeping using Xero, Sage Line 50 and QuickBooks.
• Collaborate with the wider team on accounts, tax and general client matters.

Required profile

• Significant practice experience with small‑client accounts preparation.
• Reliable, able to learn quickly and work independently.
• Not a first‑job trainee; qualification is not mandatory.
• Familiarity with IRIS, Absolute Software or Clearbooks is a plus.
