Practice Accountant & Client Manager

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Practice Accountant / Client Manager to join a growing accountancy practice on the northern side of Leeds. You will work closely with owner‑managed businesses, providing proactive advice and shaping the future of the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed business clients.
• Build trusted relationships and deliver proactive accountancy and tax advice.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing team.
• Review accounts and tax work to ensure quality and compliance.
• Support business development through networking and opportunity identification.
• Drive improvements to systems, processes and client service.
• Oversee workflow to consistently meet deadlines.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Proven experience managing a client portfolio within an accountancy practice.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build lasting client relationships.
• Passion for developing and supporting junior team members.
• Commercially aware with a proactive client‑service mindset.
• Audit exposure is beneficial but not essential.
