Practice Accountant

About the role

The Practice Accountant will join a well‑established accountancy and advisory firm operating across the North West and North Wales. You will manage a portfolio of clients, deliver high‑quality accounting services and support the practice’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Service a portfolio of clients and maintain strong relationships.
• Track job progress, billing targets and monitor deadlines.
• Prepare accounts for limited companies.
• Complete self‑assessment tax returns and corporation tax computations.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Use accounting software such as IRIS, Sage, DEXT and Xero.
• Deliver work to a high standard and on time.
• Respond to client queries promptly.
• Assist colleagues and trainees with technical advice.

Required profile

• At least 5 years’ experience as an accountant in a practice environment.
• AAT qualification or higher.
• Experience preparing self‑assessment tax returns.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to advise clients.
• Proven track record in a similar role.
• Full UK driving licence.
