Practice Accountant

About the role

The practice is seeking an experienced Practice Accountant to join its friendly, close‑knit team in High Wycombe. You will work with a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, limited companies and sole traders, delivering high‑quality accounting and tax services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual statutory accounts for limited companies and sole traders.
• Manage bookkeeping assignments and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare and submit Self Assessment tax returns.
• Prepare Corporation Tax computations and returns.
• Provide advice and support to self‑employed clients and owner‑managed businesses.
• Assist clients with Capital Gains Tax and Construction Industry Scheme matters where appropriate.
• Liaise directly with clients, HMRC and fellow professionals.
• Ensure all statutory deadlines are met accurately and efficiently.
• Develop trusted, long‑standing client relationships through exceptional service.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• ACA, ACCA or Qualified by Experience (QBE) qualification.
• Ability to manage your own client portfolio with minimal supervision.
• Experience preparing accounts, bookkeeping and tax work.
• Professional, personable approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to first‑class client service.
