About the role
Owen Reed is seeking an experienced, proactive and highly organised Practice Assistant to support the Charity & Community team of a top law firm in London. The role is hybrid, with an initial on‑site period followed by two days a week in the office.
Key responsibilities
- Effective diary management and workload planning for fee earners.
- Process applications, forms or searches with minimal supervision.
- Provide excellent service to internal and external clients and act as the first point of contact for fee earners.
- Assist in delivering marketing communications and record business development meetings in the CRM system.
- Create high‑quality typed documents using firm templates and CRM data, and proof‑read for accuracy.
- Maintain proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Manage file records, ensuring they are up‑to‑date, closed and archived appropriately.
- Prepare bills, AML documentation and conduct conflict searches as required.
Required profile
- GCSE grade C/level 4 (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English.
- Previous secretarial experience in a law firm (essential).
- Experience working in charity and community settings (helpful).
- Willingness to work flexible hours and beyond normal office times when needed.
