Practice Manager / Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an ACCA/ACA qualified Practice Manager/Senior Accountant to join a forward‑thinking accountancy firm on a permanent basis. You will work closely with the Director, manage a portfolio of clients and help drive business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Director and engage warm leads to develop the practice.
• Prepare monthly management accounts using Xero, IRIS or QuickBooks.
• Manage treasury functions, forecasts and client payments across banking platforms.
• Handle corporate tax filings and VAT returns to HMRC.
• Review payrolls processed in SAGE, ensuring compliance with pension, expense and compensation rules.
• Prepare statutory accounts under UK GAAP using Caseware and file them with Companies House.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide company secretarial support.
• Communicate with clients for purchase approvals and expense compliance, assisting with P11D and PSA submissions.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA with solid experience in an accountancy firm.
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP, tax, payroll and statutory reporting.
