Practice Nurse - Bank

About the role

Primary Care 24 is recruiting experienced Practice Nurses to join its bank workforce across GP practices in Merseyside, including Litherland, Hightown, Crosby, Crossways, Maghull, Thornton, Seaforth, Netherton, Netherley and Garston. You will deliver evidence-based, quality-focused nursing care alongside GPs and other healthcare professionals, working Monday to Friday 08:00-18:30.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist general practice nursing and primary care services, including assessment, treatment, screening and health education in line with protocols, guidelines and the NMC Code of conduct.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, keeping clear communication between clinical, administration and community teams.
• Supervise and mentor the general practice nursing team and support staff and students.
• Document consultations and treatments accurately, focusing on QOF and local quality contracts.
• Follow infection control, safeguarding (adults and children) and safety policies, and keep work areas safe and hazard-free.
• Manage treatment room supplies and equipment, and monitor compliance with health, safety and security legislation.

Required profile

• NMC registered with at least 2 years of qualified experience.
• Experience in a GP practice, primary care or community setting; experience in cervical cytology or working towards it is desirable.
• Adult and child vaccination training with evidence of annual updates.
• Degree level education or equivalent.
• BSL, Infection Control, Information Governance and Safeguarding (adults and children) Level 3 certificates.

Required skills

• NMC mentorship qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
