Pre Kit Technician – Precision Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a Pre Kit Technician to support a busy CNC machining department within a well‑established precision engineering company. You will ensure that all tools, fixtures, inserts and gauges are prepared and available before each job starts, helping production run smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tooling and components for upcoming CNC jobs.
• Collect tools, inserts, fixtures, gauges and consumables.
• Check kits against job sheets and engineering paperwork.
• De‑kit tooling after production and return items correctly.
• Monitor tooling stock levels and report shortages.
• Update stock movements in the ERP/MRP system.
• Work closely with machinists, planners and production staff.
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient work area.

Required profile

• Good understanding of engineering components or tooling.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Enjoys working in a hands‑on technical environment.
• Can read and follow engineering paperwork.
• Works well as part of a team and is keen to learn.
