Pre Litigation File Handler

About the role

The Pre‑Litigation File Handler will manage a caseload of up to 250 pre‑litigated NIHL and HAVS claims, guiding each file to conclusion or the point of litigation. This role is ideal for candidates seeking experience running their own caseload within a claims management environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of approximately 250 files, ensuring client KPIs and SLAs are met.
• Send initial letters, open new files, and conduct company, director, and ELTO searches.
• Communicate with claimant solicitors, insurers, and brokers to obtain schedules, medical evidence, and updates.
• Update the Tracker database, handle policy queries, and request documents from insurers and insured parties.
• Review medical, engineering, and witness evidence, and close files with appropriate notifications.
• Perform general administration, diary protocol expiry dates, and escalate files to the Team Leader when milestones are triggered.

Required profile

• Awareness and understanding of file‑handling processes for disease claims.
• Technical knowledge of NIHL and/or HAVS claims.
• Basic understanding of all stages of the pre‑litigation process for disease claims.
• GCSE grade A‑C in English and Mathematics.

Required skills

• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• Experience using a case/claims management system.
