Precision Engineer / Toolmaker – Chessington

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Precision Engineer/Toolmaker to join a well‑established engineering business in Chessington. You will manufacture, maintain and assemble high‑precision tooling and components for sectors such as aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, nuclear and general engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture precision jigs, fixtures and components from engineering drawings.
• Operate manual lathes, milling machines, surface grinders and other toolroom equipment.
• Fit, assemble and modify precision‑engineered parts.
• Inspect finished work using precision measuring equipment to ensure quality standards.
• Carry out tool maintenance, repair and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to support manufacturing operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Toolmaker, Precision Engineer, Toolroom Engineer or Manual Machinist in a precision engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality output.
• Experience working with a variety of engineering materials.

What we offer

• Salary £35,000 – £45,000 per year
• Monday‑Thursday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm, early finish Fridays (12:00 pm)
