Precision Technician (Artificial Insemination)

About the role

Join Cogent’s progressive, customer‑focused team as a Precision Technician specialising in artificial insemination. You will work directly on farms in North West England, helping dairy producers improve herd fertility through hands‑on breeding services and data‑driven advice.

Key responsibilities

• Detect heats and perform artificial inseminations on cows.
• Record observations, inseminations and generate veterinary and attention lists for customers.
• Use both chalk‑based and electronic heat and health monitoring systems to identify cows in heat.
• Maintain and analyse customers’ fertility data and produce herd performance reports.
• Deliver a high‑quality service using Cogent’s heat detection and whole‑herd management solutions.
• Prepare detailed action reports for customers and the team leader.
• Liaise with veterinarians, nutritionists and other industry professionals.

Required profile

• Experience working in dairy environments with solid animal husbandry knowledge.
• Professional, friendly attitude with strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Highly organised, self‑motivated and able to overcome challenges.
• Valid UK driving licence.
