Prep Technician

About the role

Vertu Ford Shirley is looking for a motivated Prep Technician to join its vehicle service team. You will carry out pre‑delivery inspections on new and used cars, ensuring each vehicle meets the highest manufacturer standards before it reaches the customer.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pre‑delivery inspections (PDIs) on new and used vehicles.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines and agreed time‑frames to maintain productivity.
• Deliver high‑quality workmanship and aim for first‑time fixes.
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the inspection process.

Required profile

• Relevant automotive qualification such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3.
• Current experience working as a Vehicle Technician.
• MOT licence preferred but not essential.
• Own set of tools and a full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Pre‑delivery inspection (PDI) procedures.
• Automotive diagnostic knowledge.
• MOT testing knowledge.
• Full UK driving licence.

• Basic salary between £28,000‑£36,200 per year (40‑hour week).
