Pre‑School Leader – Early Years Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Early Years specialist to lead our Shining Stars Pre‑School provision. The role offers the chance to shape a nurturing, Christian‑based environment for children aged 2‑5 within a thriving academy trust.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Shining Stars Pre‑School, ensuring high‑quality care and education for children aged 2‑5.
• Collaborate with the School Leadership Team to develop and implement the early years curriculum in line with the school’s Christian ethos.
• Supervise, mentor and support pre‑school staff, including keyworkers and the Early Years Leader.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations, including timetabling, health & safety, and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Engage with parents and the local community to promote the pre‑school and support children’s development.

Required profile

• Qualified Early Years practitioner with proven leadership experience.
• Demonstrated ability to create a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment.
• Commitment to the school’s Christian ethos and to fostering children’s academic, social, emotional and spiritual growth.
• Experience or strong interest in forest schools or outdoor learning is desirable.

Required skills

• Leadership and staff management.
• Knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) standards.
• Planning and delivering curriculum for 2‑5 year olds.
• Effective communication with parents and stakeholders.
