President of Nova Scotia Community College

About the role

The President will provide executive leadership for Nova Scotia Community College, a province‑wide institution serving over 20,000 learners across 14 campuses. Reporting to the Board of Governors, the role guides strategic direction, ensures alignment with provincial economic goals, and acts as the public face of the college.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the college’s strategic plan in partnership with the Board.
• Foster relationships with students, staff, industry partners, community groups, and government agencies.
• Oversee academic quality, student success initiatives, and workforce‑development programs.
• Ensure financial stewardship, operational efficiency, and compliance across a multi‑site, unionized environment.
• Champion equity, cultural competence, and inclusive practices to support equity‑deserving groups.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑executive experience in large, complex organizations.
• Proven track record of strategic leadership, change management, and results‑driven performance.
• Experience in post‑secondary education, workforce development, or related sectors is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to build trust, collaboration, and high‑performing teams.
