Primary Care Physician – Internal Medicine

About the role

South Shore Health is seeking a board‑certified Primary Care Physician to join its Internal Medicine team in Norwell, MA. Working under indirect supervision, you will provide comprehensive outpatient care to a defined patient population, balancing day and evening clinic rotations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations, assessments, diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications, order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostics.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists and collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with medical record policies.
• Adhere to departmental policies, quality improvement initiatives, and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Current board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Valid Massachusetts medical license.
• Ability to work independently while following indirect supervision guidelines.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in medical societies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning.
• Knowledge of pharmacology and prescribing practices.
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation.
