About the role

Anglia Ruskin University is offering a joint academic and clinical appointment as Primary Care Research Centre Director. The role blends research leadership with hands‑on clinical work in Community Mental Health Services, providing a dynamic portfolio career.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the new Primary Care Research Centre, securing external funding through grants, consultancy and contracts.
• Conduct high‑impact research, publish internationally recognised outputs and contribute to interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, design teaching materials and supervise PhD and professional doctorate students.
• Participate in curriculum development, student recruitment, quality assurance and widening participation initiatives.
• Deliver clinical practice across CMHT and PCN MDT meetings, run patient review clinics and provide emergency medical support.
• Provide clinical supervision for trainee doctors and manage statutory processes under the Mental Health Act.

Required profile

• Established academic researcher with a strong record of grant acquisition and publication.
• Qualified medical professional experienced in primary and community mental health care.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to build and manage a research centre.
• Commitment to teaching, mentorship and interdisciplinary collaboration.
