Primary Cover Supervisor – Flexible Temporary Role

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for enthusiastic Primary Cover Supervisors to deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of primary schools in Cambridge and surrounding areas. The role offers flexible, short‑term or long‑term assignments, allowing you to gain experience in different classroom settings while supporting pupils' learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑set lessons during teacher absence.
• Maintain a calm, engaging, and productive classroom environment.
• Support pupils throughout the day and encourage participation.
• Follow each school's policies, including behaviour management.
• Adapt confidently to EYFS, KS1 and KS2 settings.
• Provide clear feedback to teaching staff after each placement.

Required profile

• Experience working with children in schools, sport coaching, youth work or similar.
• Confidence leading groups and managing classroom behaviour.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Reliability, adaptability and a genuine enthusiasm for education.
