Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Full‑time

About the role

This full‑time Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) position starts in September 2026 at an Outstanding primary school in Wembley, Brent. You will work alongside teachers, the SENCO and senior leaders to support pupils who need additional assistance, particularly those with SEND and SEMH needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, pre‑planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Provide high‑quality classroom cover when required.
• Lead small‑group and one‑to‑one intervention sessions.
• Support pupils with SEND and SEMH using inclusive strategies.
• Collaborate with the SENCO to implement personalised support plans.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and active learning.
• Monitor pupil progress and report to teaching staff.
• Contribute to the wider school community and extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH is essential.
• Either an experienced HLTA or an ambitious Teaching Assistant seeking to develop classroom expertise.
• Commitment to a full‑time schedule (Monday‑Friday) starting September 2026.
