Primary PMLD Teacher – Harrow – Full Time

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Primary PMLD Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Harrow. The role involves delivering sensory‑based, personalised learning for pupils aged 3‑11 with profound and multiple learning difficulties. You will start in September and work in a highly specialised, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised lessons for pupils aged 3‑11 with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
• Design and implement sensory‑based learning activities tailored to complex needs.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet communication, physical and developmental requirements.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and other SEN professionals.
• Utilise communication tools such as PECS and a range of sensory resources.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP targets.
• Maintain a calm, safe and engaging classroom environment.
• Support pupils in developing communication, engagement and life‑skills activities.

Required profile

• Proactive, patient and resilient with a genuine passion for inclusive primary education.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) highly desirable.
• Previous experience teaching pupils aged 3‑11 within SEN or PMLD settings.

Required skills

• Use of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).
• Experience with sensory resources and interactive learning approaches.
