About the role
We are seeking an experienced Primary PMLD Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Harrow. The role involves delivering sensory‑based, personalised learning for pupils aged 3‑11 with profound and multiple learning difficulties. The successful candidate will start in September on a full‑time, temporary basis.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individualized lessons for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
- Implement sensory‑based activities and use communication tools such as PECS.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet each pupil’s physical, communication and developmental needs.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and other SEN professionals.
- Monitor progress and contribute to the achievement of EHCP targets.
- Maintain a calm, safe and engaging classroom environment.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching pupils aged 3‑11 in SEN or PMLD settings.
- Ability to work proactively, patiently and resiliently in a highly specialised environment.
