About the role
Reeson Education is partnering with a vibrant mainstream primary school in Kingston Upon Thames to hire a Primary Resource Base Teacher. You will lead a small, nurturing class of EYFS‑KS2 pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Social Communication needs, providing specialist support while promoting inclusion in mainstream settings.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a highly personalised curriculum adapted for learners with ASD and communication difficulties.
- Collaborate with mainstream teachers to facilitate successful step‑out opportunities.
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of EHCP targets, documenting progress.
- Work closely with the SENCO, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists to embed specialist strategies.
- Create a low‑arousal classroom environment using visual schedules, sensory breaks, and positive behaviour support.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience in a UK primary setting.
- Deep understanding of Autism (ASD) and Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN).
- Experience in a resource base or SEN unit is highly desirable.
- Ability to adapt between sensory‑based learning and formal academic instruction.
- Excellent communication skills for leading teaching assistants and liaising with parents and external professionals.
