About the role
We are seeking a detail‑oriented, self‑motivated caretaker to join the facilities team at a primary school in Leeds. You will ensure the school environment remains clean, safe, and well‑maintained for staff and students.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain school grounds, including cleaning and basic landscaping.
- Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on school facilities.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment for pupils and staff.
- Maintain security of the premises at all times.
- Coordinate with external vendors for larger repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Carry out regular inspections to identify and address issues.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by the principal or senior staff.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a maintenance or custodial role.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Familiarity with school policies and procedures is advantageous.
Required skills
- Basic building maintenance and repair techniques.
