Primary School SEN Teaching Assistant (Full‑time, Temporary)

About the role

We are recruiting a Primary School Teaching Assistant specialising in Special Educational Needs (SEN) for a leading Outstanding academy in Slough. The role runs from September 2026 to July 2027 on a full‑time, five‑day‑a‑week basis, supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEND, including Autism, speech and language difficulties, SEMH and learning challenges.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers, SEND professionals and parents to plan and deliver tailored interventions.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual pupil requirements.
• Monitor progress and contribute to pupils’ personal, social and academic development.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children with SEND in primary or specialist settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring and resilient attitude.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
