Primary School Site Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Primary School Site Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance, health & safety and security of a welcoming primary school in Slough. The successful candidate will ensure the premises are safe, clean and compliant while supporting school activities and events.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operation and upkeep of the school building and grounds.
• Lead health & safety compliance, ensuring policies and legislation are followed.
• Conduct regular inspections, identify maintenance needs and coordinate planned and reactive works.
• Supervise external contractors, monitor service standards and maintain statutory testing records.
• Oversee site security, including opening and closing procedures.
• Provide advice, training and support on premises‑related matters.
• Line‑manage the Assistant Site Officer and work with the cleaning contractor supervisor.
• Support extended school activities, educational visits and events.
• Drive, maintain and prepare the school minibus when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Site Manager within a school environment.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and risk management.
• Full UK driving licence with D1 entitlement.
• Ability to manage contractors and coordinate maintenance activities.
