Primary SEN Teacher / Instructor

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Primary SEN Teacher / Instructor to join Bricklehurst Manor School, a specialist setting for up to 60 pupils with SEMH and associated needs. You will deliver creative, personalised lessons that empower children with Special Educational Needs and Autism to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual SEN and ASC requirements.
• Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment where every pupil feels safe and motivated.
• Support pupils' academic, emotional, social and personal development, fostering confidence and independence.
• Adapt teaching approaches and learning activities to maximise engagement and progress.
• Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, using data to inform future planning.
• Collaborate with therapists, teaching assistants, families and the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic support.
• Promote positive behaviour through therapeutic, relationship‑based strategies.
• Contribute to school‑wide curriculum development and enrichment activities.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for teachers or relevant qualifications for instructors.
• Genuine passion for working with pupils who have SEN and/or SEMH needs.
• Creative, reflective and adaptable teaching style.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary up to £43,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
• Permanent, term‑time‑only contract.
• 37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑4:00 pm (with occasional 5 pm finish).
• Supportive specialist environment with a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
