Primary SEN Teacher (KS1/2) – Harrow

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, dedicated Primary or SEN Teacher to join an outstanding special‑needs school in Harrow. The role starts on a timesheet basis through Reeson Education and, following a successful probation period, will convert to a permanent contract. You will work with children who have moderate to severe learning difficulties and autism, delivering KS1/2 curriculum in a supportive, multi‑sensory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging KS1/2 lessons for pupils with ASD and other learning difficulties.
• Collaborate with the on‑site therapy team to integrate therapeutic support into daily teaching.
• Utilise the school’s outdoor multi‑sensory space to enhance learning experiences.
• Monitor pupil progress, produce assessments and maintain accurate records.
• Support behaviour management and promote inclusive classroom practices.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record in SEN or primary education.
• Experience working with children who have autism, speech and language disorders, or other learning difficulties – either in a special‑needs or mainstream setting.
• Strong motivation to make a difference and belief that all children can achieve outstanding progress.
• Willingness to work in Harrow or a nearby location.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).
• Familiarity with Makaton signing.
• Understanding of TEACCH principles.
• Experience with Team Teach approaches.
