Primary SEN Teacher (Year 1/2) – Romford

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Primary SEN Teacher to lead a small Year 1/2 class of pupils with Special Educational Needs in a welcoming primary school in Romford. This full‑time, long‑term position starts immediately and may continue into the new academic year from September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and assess lessons tailored to each pupil’s individual learning needs.
• Deliver creative, differentiated instruction that engages and supports children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs.
• Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants, the SENCO and external professionals to optimise outcomes.
• Monitor progress against personalised learning targets and provide regular feedback to parents and staff.
• Maintain a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs in a primary setting.
• Understanding of a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language, and SEMH.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management using positive strategies.
• Patient, adaptable and passionate about inclusive education.
