Primary Supply Teacher – Horsham

About the role

Hays Education is seeking experienced primary teachers to provide flexible supply cover across schools in Horsham and the wider West Sussex area. The role can be undertaken on a full‑time or part‑time basis, allowing you to match your teaching commitments with personal needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver daily or longer‑term supply teaching in a variety of primary, infant and junior schools.
• Adapt quickly to unfamiliar lesson plans, timetables and classroom environments.
• Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning atmosphere.
• Communicate clearly with teaching assistants, senior staff and pupils.
• Follow safeguarding policies and complete required training.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or eligibility to complete an induction year.
• Recent classroom experience (within the last five years) and familiarity with current curriculum changes.
• Creative, positive attitude and professional conduct at all times.

Required skills

• Strong classroom management.
• Effective communication with staff and students.
• Ability to adapt lesson delivery to new plans and timetables.
