About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic Primary Supply Teachers to provide flexible, short‑term cover for schools in Peacehaven and the surrounding area. Whether you are newly qualified or have several years of classroom experience, this role allows you to work when it suits you while making a positive impact on young learners.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver the national curriculum for key stages 1 and 2 in the assigned classroom.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Assess pupil progress and provide feedback in line with school policies.
- Collaborate with permanent staff to ensure continuity of teaching and learning.
- Adapt lesson plans quickly to meet the needs of the class.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England.
- Clean DBS check.
- Teaching experience in a primary school within the last five years.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Required skills
- Ability to plan and deliver primary‑level lessons.
- Proficiency in using standard classroom resources and basic ICT tools.
What we offer
- Flexible scheduling – work as little or as often as you like.
- Daily rate of £110‑£130, paid per day of placement.
- Support from a local Hays Education consultant who understands the Sussex market.
- £250 referral bonus for each teacher you recommend who joins the roster.
