Primary Teacher – Full‑time (Temporary) – Harpenden

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Primary Teacher to join a respected school in Harpenden for the upcoming academic year. This full‑time, temporary position offers the chance to shape a vibrant, inclusive classroom environment and support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum, adapting approaches to meet diverse learning needs.
• Lead and coordinate teaching assistants, ensuring effective support for SEN and EAL pupils.
• Maintain a positive, well‑managed classroom atmosphere that promotes high expectations and emotional safety.
• Communicate regularly with parents, carers and senior leadership about pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Contribute to whole‑school initiatives such as phase planning, curriculum standardisation and staff briefings.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – mandatory.
• Proven experience teaching in UK primary schools, either as a generalist or Early Career Teacher.
• Strong knowledge of primary frameworks, assessment methods and evidence‑based literacy, phonics and numeracy strategies.
• Effective classroom management skills and the ability to establish respectful routines from day one.

Required skills

• QTS certification.
• Familiarity with the National Curriculum.
• Experience supporting SEN and EAL learners.
