About the role

Reed Education is supporting a well‑known specialist school in Reading to recruit a Primary Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for a one‑year maternity cover. The role starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to work in a nurturing, inclusive environment that values every pupil’s progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons for primary‑age pupils.
• Create an inclusive classroom that meets a range of learning needs.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and external professionals to support pupil wellbeing.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches as required.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England.
• Experience teaching within the primary age range.
• Strong commitment to pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents and external agencies.
• Flexibility to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners.
