Primary Teacher (SEND) – Full‑time & Temporary

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking compassionate primary teachers to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 settings in Southport and surrounding areas. The role can be full‑time, part‑time, short‑term or permanent, offering flexibility for both experienced teachers and early‑career professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual SEND profiles.
• Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs and multidisciplinary teams to implement EHCP targets.
• Use positive behaviour support strategies to encourage engagement and progress.
• Maintain strong relationships with pupils, families and school staff.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience in SEND, specialist or inclusive mainstream settings.
• Passion for supporting children with autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD or complex needs.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEND legislation and EHCP implementation.
• Ability to differentiate curriculum for diverse learning needs.
• Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
