Primary Teacher – Special Educational Needs (Key Stages 1‑2)

About the role
We are looking for a compassionate Primary Teacher specialised in Special Educational Needs to join our vibrant local SEND school. You will work across Key Stages 1 and 2, creating an inclusive environment where every child can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to each child's abilities.
- Develop, implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with parents and external professionals.
- Assess and record student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and senior staff to provide holistic support.
- Foster a safe, structured classroom that promotes confidence and independence.
- Champion inclusion and a culture of acceptance throughout the school community.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience or a specialist qualification in SEN teaching (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and its adaptation for diverse learners.
- Experience working with children with ASD, speech‑language difficulties and developmental delays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with students, families and staff.
Required skills
