Primary Teacher (Year 1) – Newham, Sep 2026

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Primary Teacher for Year 1 to join a vibrant, well‑resourced primary school in Newham from September 2026. The position is a one‑year fixed‑term contract, supporting a stimulating and supportive learning atmosphere where pupils are encouraged to explore, collaborate and develop a wide range of skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver the Year 1 curriculum in line with the national standards.
• Create engaging lessons that foster curiosity and inquisitive learning.
• Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance the broader educational experience.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions and school events.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
• Experience teaching in a primary setting, preferably Key Stage 1 (experience in other year groups is also acceptable).
• Passion for facilitating inquisitive and curious learners.
• Team‑oriented mindset and enjoyment of working in a large school environment.
