Primary Teacher – Year 5 (Full-time/Part-time)

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with primary schools in Brent to recruit an experienced Year 5 Teacher for the September 2026 start. The role can be taken on a full‑time or part‑time basis, delivering the KS2 National Curriculum and preparing pupils for the transition to Year 6.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver KS2 lessons in English, mathematics and the wider curriculum with high expectations.
• Monitor pupil progress data and provide targeted interventions for those who need additional support.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCO and other staff to support pupils with SEND and EAL.
• Promote independence, analytical thinking and academic resilience among Year 5 students.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
• Proven KS2 teaching experience, preferably in Years 4‑6.
• Strong subject knowledge in English and mathematics.
• Ability to prepare pupils for upper KS2 expectations and the step up to Year 6.
• Experience in differentiation and targeted intervention for mixed‑ability, SEND and EAL groups.
• Data‑driven approach to monitoring progress and planning next steps.
• Effective behaviour management with a growth‑mindset approach.
• Current safeguarding and child‑protection knowledge.
