Primary Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship – Earn While You Learn

About the role

Join a welcoming primary school in Dagenham as a Trainee Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 while completing a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship. The role offers paid training from day one and clear progression to Level 4 HLTA.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils individually and in small groups.
• Assist with phonics, literacy, numeracy and targeted interventions.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and engagement.
• Support children’s emotional and social development.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and resource creation.

Required profile

• Aspiring teachers, psychology or education graduates, nursery practitioners, support staff or career changers.
• Commitment to an 11‑month apprenticeship.
• GCSE Maths and English (grade C/4+ preferred).
• Not enrolled in another government‑funded course.
• Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check (support provided).

• £10.00‑£13.00 per hour, above the standard apprenticeship rate.
