Primary Teaching Assistant – Day Rate

About the role

Connex Education is partnering with a respected Multi‑Academy Trust to recruit enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants for schools in Bath and surrounding areas. You will work on a day‑to‑day supply basis and in short‑ or long‑term placements, supporting Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 classrooms.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general classroom support to teachers across all primary phases.
• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small‑group interventions based on each school's needs.
• Assist with daily routines, behaviour management and the delivery of the primary curriculum.
• Support phonics instruction and other literacy activities.

Required profile

• Experience working with children aged 4‑11 in a UK primary setting.
• Strong communication and positive behaviour management skills.
• Good understanding of classroom routines and the primary curriculum.
• Organised, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience with SEND is desirable but not essential.
